Body of Work, Presented by Katie Kiesewetter
Monday, September 26 to Friday, October 7, 2022 (all day)
Body of Work
UICB certificate student, Katie Kiesewetter, (re)presents Body of Work in the K.K. Merker Gallery Sept. 26 - Oct. 7.
A smaller version of her MA exhibition, originally shown in the Ana Mendieta Gallery in May of this year, this revised and reprised Body of Work explores what installation pieces can look like retrofitted to a new space. Thematically, Body of Work examines the effects of labor on one's identity and being, issues related to the service and hospitality industry, and autobiographical narratives from Katie's own life.
Katie's home department is in the School of Art & Art History where she is pursuing an MFA in graphic design. She is also completing the certificate program in Gender, Women's, & Sexuality Studies in addition to her book art studies at UICB.
