The UI Center for the Book has won a two and a half million dollar challenge grant from the Windgate Charitable Foundation. The matching grant requires a $2.5 million fundraising campaign by the UICB in the coming year. Endowment of the funds will support graduate student financial aid, faculty appointments, and professional advancement of the field. The Windgate gift recognizes the Center as the most innovative combined book arts and book studies program in higher education today. Students go on to careers as book artists, printers, conservators, book designers, librarians, publishers, teachers, and scholars.
