Elizabeth Munger will host a platen press workshop for UICB students and faculty at the Paper Nest.

October 1^st – 4^th
The Iowa City Book Festival will be held in and around downtown Iowa City.  The UICB and the Iowa City Press Co-op will be co-hosting a table at the event. More information can be found here: http://www.iowacitybookfestival.org/

October 8^th
Gary Frost will be the featured speaker at the second annual William Anthony Lecture on Conservation. He will discuss the history and future of the UI Libraries Book Model Collection. 6pm in E105 AJB

October 16^th -17^th
Scientific Books and their Makers: A Symposium Sponsored by the University of Iowa Center for the Book, Rare Book School, and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. More information about the symposium can be found here.

November 5^th
Brownell Lecture in the History of the Book with Mary Fissell

Dr. Fissell is Professor in the Department of the History of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University, where she also co-edits the Bulletin of the History of Medicine. Her scholarly work focuses on how ordinary people in the past understood health, healing, and the natural world. 7:30pm in W151 PBB

December 11^th
UICB Open House

Exhibits from UICB studio classes in lettering arts, papermaking, bookbinding, artist books, and letterpress printing will be on display. 4:00-6:00pm Ground Floor, North Hall.
