We are pleased to report that Emily Martin will be the 2018 Printer-in-Residence at the Bodleian Bibliographical Press in Oxford, England from October 29 to November 24, 2018. During her fellowship at the Bodleian, she will interact with the staff of the Bodleian Libraries and the wider University through her work in the print shop, a short workshop and a public lecture. Martin will print an artists’ book with the working title of Order of Appearances and spend time as a reader at the Bodleian Libraries. Martin was selected from an international field of contemporary letterpress printers.

Emily Martin joined the faculty of the University of Iowa Center for the Book in 1998. At the UICB, she teaches artists’ book and traditional bookbinding classes. Martin’s books are included in public and private collections throughout the United States and internationally, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York), the Library of Congress, The Victoria and Albert Museum (London), the Tate Britain (London), Biblioteca Nacional de Chile (Santiago), and others. She has received grants and residencies from the College Book Arts Association, the Center for Book Arts in New York City, and the University of Florida among others.
