We are pleased to announce the appointments of Elizabeth Stone (MFA 2014) and Andrea Kohashi (MFA 2015) to positions in the UI Libraries Preservation and Conservation Department. Stone is the new Assistant Conservator while Kohashi is the new Preservation Processing Library Assistant.

Elizabeth Stone has been Project Conservator for the NEH-funded Keith-Albee Vaudeville Theater Collection Digitization and Conservation project for the past year. Outside of Iowa, she worked for the Conservation Center of Art and Historic Artifacts in Philadelphia and the State Historical Society of Pennsylvania. She began at the University of Iowa Libraries as a conservation technician only months before the flood of 2008 and participated in the salvage effort from the beginning.

Andrea Kohashi has been with the Libraries in various capacities since moving to Iowa City. She began as the Olson Fellow in Special Collections. She then moved into the Iowa Women’s Archives, where she worked while completing her MA from the School of Library and Information Sciences and her MFA from the Center for the Book.

Congratulations Andrea and Beth!
