UICB Spring 2015 events

Friday, March 6th from 5:00pm - 8:00pm

RSVP has graciously offered to host the UICB during the Spring Gallery Walk.  Stop by 140 N Linn St. to see some recent work from UICB students.

Friday, March 13th at 1:30pm

Visiting Artist Aimee Lee will speak at the UICB Paper Facility on the Oakdale Campus. Lee is an interdisciplinary artist who works with handmade paper and the leading hanji (Korean paper) researcher and practitioner in the United States. 

Wednesday, April 1st at 6:30pm

Yves Leterme an internationally known calligrapher will give a presentation about his work in North Hall.

Thursday, April 2nd at 5:00pm

The UICB will host its annual Mitchell Lecture on the Art of the Book on Thursday, April 2nd, E105 AJB. This year’s lecture will feature conservator Julia Miller.  Miller is a bench-trained conservator who studies and writes about historical binding structures.   Miller will also be teaching a workshop on M 671 - A 13th c.—A Transitional Binding.

Monday, April 6th at 4:00pm

Sally Blakemore, a paper engineer and artist from Santa Fe, AZ will speak about her work at 4pm, location in North Hall to be determined.

Thursday, April 16th at 3:30pm

Russell Maret, type designer and private press printer, will speak in 2032 Main Library on Thursday, April 16th at 3:30pm.  

Friday, May 8th from 4:00-6:00

The UICB’s Spring 2015 MFA Group show reception will be held in the K. K. Merker Gallery on Friday, May 8th from 4:00-6:00.
