Margaret Yapp is a poet and letterpress printer from Iowa City, Iowa. She works as the managing editor at Prompt Press and runs Rampage Party Press, an ongoing hand-printed broadside project and poetry magazine. She has an MFA in poetry from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and is currently an MFA candidate at the University of Iowa Center for the Book. Her debut book of poems, Green for Luck, is out now from EastOver Press.  

Margaret has printed letterpress broadsides for Prompt Press, the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, the University of Iowa Nonfiction Writing Program, Princeton University, and elsewhere. She has a special interest in printing contemporary poetry, and has worked with poets Layli Long Soldier, Rowan Ricardo Phillips, Maureen McLane, Kelly Hoffer, Tramaine Suubi, Alana Solin, and others. Margaret enjoys working collaboratively with writers and artists to achieve a design that best suits their work. Her letterpress prints often include hand-applied details, through methods like pouchoir, rubber stamps, cutouts, and other manipulations. She typically prints on a Vandercook SP-15, using metal type, photopolymer, and other techniques.
