Toolmaking: Bone folders from deer or elk bone

$50 students

$70 non-students

$15 materials fee

Join off-the-grid book arts specialist extraordinaire Jim Croft for a special two day session going through all the steps necessary in making large and small bone folders, and other smaller tools of bone. Starting with raw or partially finished deer and elk leg bone stock, Jim will guide you through preliminary shaping, filing, and then sanding and and final finishing. Each student will make 1-3 bone folders depending on size and whether or not they elect to start from raw or pre-shaped stock. Additional material will be available to purchase for those who wish to make additional items after the workshop. ;
