Join us for a virtual Iowa Bibliophiles!

The Iowa Initiative for Scientific Imaging and Conservation of Cultural Artifacts (IISICCA) is a collaborative research team from all across the University of Iowa. An unparalleled interdisciplinary group, their goal is to collaborate on exploring cultural artifacts with nondestructive digital imaging, machine learning, and artificial intelligence technologies.

This talk features a look at this unique team and their work to uncover mysteries behind some of the objects stored in Special Collections & Archives. Find out more about how the humanities and sciences are working together to peel back the layers of book history and discover more about the objects that have helped shape our cultures today.

The talk will be on Zoom starting at 7 p.m., and it will be recorded. There will be time at the end for a Q&A which will not be recorded. If you have any questions, please email Elizabeth Riordan at elizabeth-riordan@uiowa.edu.
